Set the Play

Privacy Policy

Effective October 17, 2026

This policy explains what information settheplay.co (the "site") collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. "We," "us" and "our" mean Set the Play, which runs the site. If you have a question, email privacy@getnextplaymindset.com.

The short version

Information you give us

When you sign up for a free download, the form asks for your email address, your first name (optional), whether you're a parent or a coach, and whether your athlete plays on a girls' team, a boys' team or both. The form also records which page of the site you signed up from.

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write.

Information collected automatically

Like every website, the site can't load without your browser sending some technical information: your IP address, the type of browser and device, the page you asked for and the page that linked you there. Our hosting provider, Netlify, receives this information to deliver the pages and keep the site secure, and keeps it in server logs under its own policy. We don't use it to identify you or to build a profile of you.

We don't use advertising cookies, analytics tools or tracking pixels. If we ever add an analytics tool, we'll update this policy first.

Information stored only on your device

Two features save information in your browser's local storage, on your own device. It isn't sent to us and we can't see it:

How we use information

Who we share information with

We share personal information only with service providers that run parts of the site for us, and only so they can do that work:

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business, in which case this policy will continue to apply to information collected under it.

We do not sell personal information and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as California law defines those terms. We don't allow any other company to collect information about your activity on our site over time or across other websites.

Children's privacy

The sign-up form is for parents and coaches only. It isn't meant for children, and we don't knowingly accept sign-ups from anyone under 13.

Some pages, like the printable "For her" pages, are written for young athletes, including athletes under 13. Those pages don't ask for any personal information: they have no forms, no accounts and no analytics, and they load nothing from other companies. Like every page, they are delivered by our hosting provider, which logs the technical information described above. That information is used only to deliver the page and keep the site secure. It is never used to contact anyone, build a profile or show ads. Anything typed on those pages stays on the device, as described above.

If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email privacy@getnextplaymindset.com and we'll delete it.

Links to other sites

The site links to other services, including our Etsy shop, Amazon, and Google Sheets (for the book's workbook files). When you follow a link, that service's own privacy policy applies, not this one. Links to our Etsy shop include a tag that tells Etsy which page of ours you came from. The tag doesn't identify you.

How long we keep information

We keep sign-up information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. After an unsubscribe we keep only your email address on a do-not-email list, so we don't contact you again. We keep emails you send us for as long as we need them to answer you, and no longer than two years.

Your choices and rights

Whatever state you live in, you can ask us to:

Email privacy@getnextplaymindset.com from the address you signed up with. We'll reply within 45 days. Unsubscribe requests, by link or by email, take effect within 10 business days. If we turn down a request, we'll explain why, and you can ask us to reconsider by replying to that email. We won't treat you differently for using any of these rights.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Because we don't track visitors across other websites and don't sell or share personal information, the site works the same way whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of your information.

Security

The site is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and access to sign-up information is limited to the people who run the site and the service providers listed above. No method of storing or sending information is completely secure, but we work to protect what you give us.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page and change the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll email people who signed up before it takes effect, and we'll ask for your consent before using information we already have in a materially different way.
