The book
From Gazelle to Lioness
A simple way for a girl athlete to decide what she wants, do the work, and believe she can get there. For all the girls, at every age. And for the boys too.

This guide works like a workbook.
Instagram isn't going anywhere. Netflix won't run out. Your friend will survive. Binge later, call her back after, tell him to come by tonight. No harm done.
It starts with this: I have ADHD. Every little thing that happens around me grabs my attention in a second.
So my whole life I've had to find a way around it. My way was building methods for myself.
Out of all that, out of learning to live with my limitations, I wrote this guide as the Method I found for dealing with life as a whole.
For the last 7 years I've coached kids, teens, and adults, ages 5 to 50, and that whole time I worked with the Method and on the Method, improving it and making sure it works. I taught its principles to my players, mostly to the girls I coach. They used it, each at her own level, and I watched the amazing results it can produce. On them, and on me.
From the introduction.

The gazelle is running away from something. The lioness is running after something. When the sun comes up, you'd better be running.Chapter 8, where the title comes from

Decide. Act. Believe.
Decide
You start with goals. What do I want? Who do I want to be? Figuring out who you are and who you want to become is critical to your life. That's where you start.
Act
You decided. Now you act. And that means it's time to meet your new best friend. Her name is Hard Work.
Believe
Confidence is a need, not a bonus. If you want to feel confident, you have to give yourself the things that build that feeling.
Become the best you can be at what you do.
The Method gets you more focus, more time, and more confidence. And on top of that, it helps you improve, and become the best you can be at what you do. Paperback and Kindle, coming to Amazon. Leave your email and we'll tell you the day it's out. You'll get the free Mini Journal right away.

By the end of the week she has closed the last game with a clear head, picked one thing to work on at practice, and written her plan for the next one. Seven pages, one a day, five minutes a day, written by Coach Isaac in the same words he uses with his own players.
- Day 1, The Reset. Tonight, before she goes to sleep. Three slow breaths, one honest sentence about what happened, a name for the feeling, and the one thing this game is teaching her. Then she closes the game. Tomorrow is a different page.
- Day 2, The Tape. The next morning. Coaches watch the tape the next day, never the same night, because the same night you only see the mistakes. The next day you see the whole game, including what she did right.
- Day 3, My Why. When the why is strong, the how gets easier. She writes down why she plays, clearly enough to say it out loud.
- Day 4, One Focus. She knows what to fix and why it matters. Now she turns it into one small thing she can do at practice this week, and repeats it. That's how real improvement works.
- Day 5, Winter. A sports season works like the seasons of the year, and game season is winter. You can't cancel winter. What you can do is get better at it: stronger physically, stronger mentally, stronger with your feelings.
- Day 6, Believe. Belief isn't magic. It's what she says to herself, over and over, until it's what she thinks. On this page she writes her own lines instead of the ones other people put in her head.
- Day 7, Next Play. Her game plan for the next game. Eyes forward. The season only moves in one direction.
